What we are looking for:
Submission will be evaluated for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best at the discretion of our judges. We are looking for clarity, cleanliness and quality of footage, in relations to deer and waterfowl interaction with our deer and waterfowl decoys.

Obviously, the more there is, the better the odds will be, that your video will be chosen. In other words, a 15 minute video of adeer and waterfowl in close proximity, interacting with our brand of decoys will hold more weight for choice, than will a 1 minute submission. You may view some of our video clips on this site to get a better understanding.

Helpful Hints:

  • Always use a tripod for a steady submission.
  • The more of our decoys that you have placed out, the better the odds are that the decoys will be in the video.
  • Allow the subject (deer and waterfowl) to interact with the decoys for as long a possible.
  • Length of submission is one of the criteria your submission will be judged upon.
  • It is not necessary for the deer or waterfowl to be harvested to have your submission considered.
  • Make sure there is plenty of light. Early morning and late evening video, most times, turns out to be blue and grainy footage. Also, video with the sun shining form the back (behind the camera set-up) or from the left or right side will turn out much better than video captured with the sun directly in front of your camera location.
  • Zoom in tight on your subject. Video where the subject matter is small in the frame is not normally very interesting.
  • Talk to the camera before, during and after the action takes place. The lens of the camera is your audience. Tell the viewer what is and has taken place.
  • These are merely suggestion and helpful hints, so don’t be afraid to send you what you capture.

Good luck!
